Shri K. L.Gupta ji, Founder-Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) Group of Institutions, an Entrepreneur from the state of Haryana, India entered very early in the field of education with the spirit of paying back to the nation. Having lost his parents, Late Shri Ramchander Bansal Ji, and Late Shrimati Bhanpati Devi Ji at a very early age and being covered with numerous complex circumstances did not stop him from fulfilling his dream to contribute the best service to the nation. He established Shri Ram Educational Trust in the year 2000 in order to pay homage to his parents and chose the path of creating an education hub for generations to come. The year 2000 onwards, he played many roles while developing GNIOT Group as we see it today like an engineer, caretaker, advisor, and visionary entrepreneur. Many asked him why education. He replied with a sense of commitment, using a close Chinese Proverb, “If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for the lifetime, educate people”. He could have seen discussing with engineers and laborers who were constructing the various zones of the existing GNIOT campus, sharing their sorrows and joys. He could have seen roaming around the academic corridors observing classes and talking to students and faculty members without any sense of authority. He believed in no boundaries between all stakeholders of GNIOT and loved each and every corner of the campus like a garden that he grew as Gardner.

Under the umbrella of Shri Ram Educational Trust, the first established unit was Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT); an institute catering to technological education and dreamt to become the topmost college by Shri Gupta Ji. With his farsightedness, devotion, and zeal to create something that can touch the lives of many, he chose the domain of engineering for making the youth of the nation technologically sound. In a short span of 7 years of accelerating onto the path of achieving excellence in the field, GNIOT got its four departments accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in the year 2007. In just first decade of its inception, GNIOT reached new heights and became the most sought engineering institution of the region.

Our founder did not take a breath while delivering his best in designing GNIOT, he rather took a leap forward and created organizations like extensions of GNIOT as MBA institute, GNIOT Institute of Professional Studies (GIPS), GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS), GNIOT Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (GIMSR), Greater Noida World School, Delhi Public School Dhuri, and Delhi World Public School Ludhiana.

Though he is not with us today, his contribution can be cherished in the smiles of young budding engineers, management, and professional students roaming around the campus, and our proud alumni around globe.

We miss him dearly.
