About MCA Program
Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at GNIOT is a two year professional post-graduate programme for candidates wanting to delve deeper into the world of computer application development with the help of learning modern programming language. MCA provides basic theoretical and practical knowledge in all aspects of computer applications like software engineering, networking, and hardware studies.
The broad objective of the MCA programme is to prepare post graduates for productive careers in software industry, corporate sector, Govt. organizations and academia by providing skill based environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline.
The Programme's thrust is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and skill-oriented courses relevant to the latest computer software development. The programme emphasizes the application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications/networking and commercial problems.
This Master’s Degree Programme has been designed with a semester approach in mind. The first year courses are aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the second year is more focused on core courses providing conceptual frame work and provides the specialization and the project work.
On completion of MCA degree, the graduates will be able to:
- Apply the knowledge of mathematics and computing fundamentals to various real life applications for any given requirement
- Design and develop applications to analyze and solve all computer science related problems
- Design applications for any desired needs with appropriate considerations for any specific need on societal and environmental aspects
- Analyze and review literatures to invoke the research skills to design, interpret and make inferences from the resulting data
- Integrate and apply efficiently the contemporary IT tools to all computer applications
- Solve and work with a professional context pertaining to ethics, social, cultural and cyber regulations

Passed BCA/Bachelors Degree in CSE or equivalent degree with 50% or 45% for SC/ST
or
Passed B.Sc/ B.com/B.A with Maths at 10+2 level or at graduation level with 50% or 45% for SC/ST( with additional bridge courses as per norms of the university)
