Field Visit : Gain Well India & Caterpillar, Expo Mart

As part of our academic activities, Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department in collaboration with the Training & Placement Department, GNIOT, organized a field visit for B. Tech. second year students of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department to GainWell India & Caterpillar, a leading into the design, manufacturing, and applications of heavy vehicles used in various industries.The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices, enhancing students' understanding of the machinery and its specifications in sectors such as infrastructure, construction, mining, road construction, and oil and gas.

Tech. second and third year students of Mechanical Engineering Department to Air Flow Pvt. Ltd. , Greater Noida. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices, enhancing students' understanding of the machinery and its specifications in sectors such as infrastructure, construction, mining, road construction, and oil and gas.
Event: An Alumni talk on "Future Trends of Adhesive Joining"
Mechanical Engineering Department and Alumni Cell have planned to organize an alumni talk on “Future Trends in Adhesive Joining” on 22-11-2024. The speaker Mr. Shiva Bansal is the Alumnus -2019 Batch and Research Scholar in IIT Ropar, Punjab. The objective of this talk is to provide an overview of the latest advancements in adhesive bonding materials, techniques, and technologies. Adhesive bonding is an essential part of modern manufacturing due to its ability to join diverse materials (such as metals, plastics, composites) with less reliance on mechanical fasteners or welding. Understanding future trends in this field helps industries stay competitive by embracing cutting-edge technologies and materials.
Event: “Technical Workshop-I.C. Engine-Assembly and Disassembly”
Department of Mechanical Engineering, under the banner of Tech Mechanizer’s club and in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) successfully conducted a workshop on “I.C. Engine-Assembly and Disassembly “on 14th November 2024 from 1:35PM onwards. This workshop would be very helpful and beneficial for mechanical engineering students as it provides basic working knowledge of IC Engines which is the base of any automobile vehicle and practical experience in the field of I.C. Engines and applications. In this workshop students get mesmerized with the assembly and disassembly of IC Engine components. Furthermore to make the workshop more practical and interactive an assembly and disassembly competition was also included.
Event: EXPERT TALKS ON “Startup India: Vikshit Bharat 2047”
Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized a Seminar entitled “Startup India: Vikshit Bharat 2047” under the aegis of Institution’s Innovative Council (IIC). Prof. Anuranjan Mishra was the Key speaker of this event. This Seminar aims to clarify some basic tenets of entrepreneurship in education, focusing on what it is, why it is relevant to society when it is applied, and how to use in practice in the early stages. The intended audience of this seminar will be able to understand how to start their own business and become entrepreneur. It also clarifies primarily of existing research in the domains of entrepreneurship, education, psychology and philosophy. Where the research is scarce the speaker will give important guidance and direction based on conducted research and innovation as well as policies of central and state governments. Speaker highlighted about the overview of research in the domains of entrepreneurship, further he emphasized securing the individual research by filing patents.

Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department in collaboration with the Training & Placement Department, GNIOT, organized a field visit for ME Deptt. B. Tech. students to SKYDECOR Laminate located at Hapur, a leading laminate manufacturer. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, providing insights into laminate manufacturing processes and industry best practices.

Department of Mechanical Engineering and GNIOT Alumni Cell organized an Alumni Talk on products design using advanced CAD and FEA techniques on 27th September 2024 from 11:00 AM onward in the CAD Lab. Our guests Mr. Nitesh Sharma, Senior Manager and Mr. Piyush Kumar, CEO of Pioneer Infotech, Alumnus 2015, conducted the event. This session was focused on providing valuable guidance to learn the complete process of design and development of new products using advanced CAD and FEA techniques. This talk covered the entire journey from very basics conceptualizing ideas convert into 3D CAD models to validating designs through Finite Element Analysis.
The outcome of the talk aimed to provide the valuable career guidance in the field of design. Our guests shared their professional journey, key projects they have completed, and the challenges they faced in their careers. The Alumni Talk was a resounding success, achieving its goal of inspiring and educating the students.
Event: Orientation program for second year students
Date Of Event: 18th September 2024
The much-anticipated Electrical , Civil, Mechanical Engineering Department Orientation Program 2024 was successfully held on 18th September 2024, welcoming a new cohort of students to our esteemed institution. The event commenced at 10.00 AM with a warm welcome note, followed by a graceful Saraswati Vandana, setting a positive tone for the day.
Our Director Prof(Dr.) Dhiraj Gupta has given insightful message ,motivated the students to embrace the opportunities ahead, and a college introduction video offered them a glimpse into campus life. The Heads of Departments Dr. Iqbal khan (ME), Dr. Seema Arora (EE) and Dr. Mohit Gupta(CE) presented their visions and goals, supplemented by engaging departmental videos. The session by Mr. Amit Kumar on CSDC provided valuable insights into skill development. Dr. Babita Kataria led an interactive session on placements, energizing the students with future possibilities. The event concluded with a heartfelt thank-you note, leaving the students inspired and excited for the journey ahead.
Event: Vishwakarma Day Celebration

Department of Mechanical Engineering celebrated ‘Vishwakarma day’ on 17th September 2024. On this occasion, ‘Pooja’ and ‘Tilak’ of all machinery parts and tools were done by (Prof.) Dr. Dhiraj Gupta, (Prof.) Dr. Sanjay Katiyar, (Prof.) Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan, faculty members and all staff of the mechanical engineering department with students. The worship of Lord Vishwakarma was held in the Workshop lab of the mechanical engineering department. All the students and staff members of the institute took part in function and at last ‘Prashad’ was distributed among the all present members.

Various Stages of Entrepreneurship

Future of electric vehicles in comparison to conventional automobile
The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a Debate competition on Theme “Future of electric vehicles in comparison to conventional automobile” on 2nd May, 2024 at Room No: 34, Ground Floor, from 03:15 PM onwards for the B.Tech. 2nd and 3rd year students. The event was organized by Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan. The aim of organizing debate competition was to enhance the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. Electric vehicles function in a very different technological, political, and social ecosystem than internal combustion engine vehicles as they become more widely distributed.
Design Concept for Mechanical Engineers
Under the aegis of the Alumni Cell, Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an Alumni Talk on “Design Concept for Mechanical Engineers”. Mr. Dalish Sharma, an alumnus of GNIOT (pass out Batch of 2015), was the speaker of the event. The key objective of this talk was to provide students with all the necessary information, tips and other relevant resources related to design engineer, in order to get better career opportunities in this highly competitive scenario and helped them in fulfilling their endeavors and goals to achieve final Destiny.
Session of Business Model Canvas(BMC)
In pursuit of fostering creativity and cultivating a culture of innovation, the session delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Anuranjan Mishra aimed to serve as a platform to motivate students about innovation and business models. It reflected our belief that innovation and start-up journeys are the cornerstones of progressive India. The students learned about problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial spirit. Furthermore, the session was interesting with a round: Answer the Question and Win a Certificate.
CADMANIA 2K24
Mechanical Engineering department organized “CADMANIA 2K24” AutoCAD Design Competition on 24th April 2024. The main purpose of this event is to provide the guidance and motivate the students for placement in design and other fields. The recent development and future aspects have been introduced in front of them. The expected challenges in modern industries are also demonstrated.
