EVENT TITLE: “Sports Day”

Participants:

B.Tech (IT) Second Year Students & Faculty Members.

The Department of Information Technology at GNIOT, Greater Noida, successfully completed the Sports Day event on July 2, 2024. Under the esteemed guidance of faculty coordinators Mr. Manoj Mishra and Mr. Nishant Upadhyay, and with the dedication of student coordinator Rishabh Singh, the event was a resounding success.

Objectives:

  • Promote Physical Fitness: Encourage students to participate in sports and physical activities to enhance their physical well-being and overall health.
  • Foster Team Spirit: Develop teamwork and cooperation among students through group sports, enhancing their ability to work collaboratively.
  • Encourage Sportsmanship: Instill values of fair play, discipline, and respect among participants, promoting a positive sporting culture.

EVENT TITLE: ALUMNI TALK ON CAREER PLANNING

Objectives:

  • To provide avenues for drawing upon the knowledge and expertise of the alumni for facilitating GNIOT College as a centre of excellence.
  • To create a sense of brotherhood, co-operation, mutual harmony, and affection amongst the members of the Association and their alma mater-GNIOT.
  • To create a forum to exchange views and experiences and share it with the present students.
  • To act as a bridge between the college and the industries for interaction on new developments in different disciplines.
  • To assist in promoting R & D activities, testing and consultancy.
  • To foster linkages amongst the alumni and promote personal and friendly relations through meetings and get-togethers, Alumni meet etc.

EVENT TITLE: POSTER COMPETITION ON WORLD EARTH DAY

Department of Information Technology organized a “Poster Competition on World Earth Day” on 22nd April, 2024 from 2:00 PM onwards. The IT Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants for the successful completion of the Poster Presentation event on World Earth Day. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and environmental protection among students and faculty members. Through engaging activities, the event aimed to highlight the importance of preserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices.

Objectives:

  • Raise Awareness: To increase understanding among participants about the importance of wildlife conservation and environmental protection, highlighting the threats facing biodiversity and ecosystems.
  • Promote Education: To provide educational opportunities for students and faculty members to learn about wildlife conservation strategies, sustainable practices, and the role of individuals in preserving natural habitats.
  • Encourage Participation: To engage students in interactive activities, such as poster creation, to actively involve them in promoting environmental awareness and fostering a sense of responsibility towards wildlife and the planet.

EVENT TITLE: INDUSTRIAL VISIT AT FITT IIT DELHI

Objectives:

  • Encourage students to explore how innovation drives industry growth and competitiveness, highlighting the role of research and development, technological advancements, and disruptive innovations within startups and established companies alike.

EVENT TITLE: Plantation Day and Adult/Girls Education

Participants:

Third year IT Engineering Students, Deva Bhati Ji (Datawali Pradhan), Adesh Bhati Ji (brother of Deva Bhati Ji), and Mrs. Shweta Ma'am (Principal of Prathmik Vidyalaya, Datawali) & Faculty members.

Department of Information Technology organized a “Plantation Day and Adult/Girls Education Event” on 12th March, 2024 from 2:00 PM onwards.

The Information Technology department of GNIOT, Greater Noida, organized two significant initiatives, Plantation Day and the Adult/Girls Education Event, held at Prathmik Vidyalaya Datawali, Dadri block, Gautam Buddha Nagar, U.P. These events aimed to contribute to environmental sustainability through plantation and to promote education among adults and girls in the community.

Objectives:

Objective of Plantation Day:

  • Environmental Conservation: To contribute to the preservation and restoration of the environment by planting a variety of saplings, thereby increasing green cover and mitigating the effects of climate change.
  • Biodiversity Enhancement: To promote biodiversity within the local ecosystem by planting indigenous trees and plants, creating habitats for wildlife, and fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment.
  • Community Engagement: To involve students, faculty, and community members in a collective effort towards environmental stewardship, fostering a sense of responsibility and ownership towards the well-being of the environment.
  • Educational Awareness: To raise awareness about the importance of trees and their role in ecological balance, educating participants about the benefits of afforestation and the impact of deforestation on ecosystems and livelihoods.
  • Sustainable Development: To encourage sustainable practices and a culture of environmental consciousness by instilling values of conservation and responsible resource management among participants, contributing to long-term environmental sustainability.

Department of Information Technology organized a “World Wildlife Day Celebration” on 04th March, 2024 from 2:00 PM onwards.

On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, the Information Technology Department at GNIOT, Greater Noida, organized a special event to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and environmental protection. The event aimed to educate students and faculty members about the importance of preserving biodiversity and the need for sustainable practices.

Objectives:

  • Raise awareness: To increase understanding among students and faculty members about the importance of wildlife conservation and the preservation of biodiversity.
  • Educate: To provide informative content through documentaries and films that highlight the threats faced by wildlife and ecosystems, as well as the significance of sustainable practices.
  • Inspire action: To motivate participants to take proactive steps towards protecting the environment, both individually and collectively, by promoting eco-friendly behaviors and advocating for conservation efforts.

EVENT TITLE: Session on Gender Disparity

Third year & Second Year IT Engineering Students & Faculty members.

Department of Information Technology organized a “Session on Gender Disparity” on 6th November, 2023 from 2:00 PM onwards.

Gender equality involves giving equal treatment without any distinction to males, females, and transgender individuals.

Objectives:

  • Equal Treatment: To treat every man, woman, and transgender person as a human. Neither is superior, better, more intelligent, nor more hardworking.
  • Appreciation over Discrimination: To learn to appreciate and not to discriminate; a country built on good morals is a healthy one.
  • Breaking Gender Labels: To teach that as long as there are words like gender floating around in society, there can be no real equality.
  • Promoting Peace and Integrity: There will be peace and integrity in society only when we make way for gender equality. Make a choice now or regret in the future.
  • Eliminating Gender Stereotypes: Words like masculinity and feminism should cease to exist, and the way should be made for equality.

  • Encourage Innovation and Creativity: To inspire participants to think creatively and leverage innovation to solve problems and seize opportunities in the market.

About the Event:

The session was organized by the Department of Information Technology in association with IIC with the aim of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and providing motivation to those seeking to embark on their own business ventures. Successful entrepreneurs from diverse industries were invited to share their stories, each highlighting various aspects of business creation, growth, and sustainability.

The "My Story" motivational session provided an inspiring platform where successful entrepreneurs shared their journeys, experiences, and insights with aspiring individuals. UPITS 2024, organized by the Uttar Pradesh government, is one of the largest platforms for industries to showcase their products, innovations, and services on an international stage. The show featured a wide array of exhibitors from diverse sectors, including:
